Hey, how do I edit what appears in the ‘About’ the contact on the mobile app?
Hi @MFormby,
The “About this contact” section behaves like the “About this contact” section on the contact record in the regular desktop / browser view. You can customize it by following these steps: Customize the properties shown on records
Best regards!
No, it only changes the views for desktop, not mobile.
@MFormby could you confirm that you’ve changed the properties for “About this contact” in the settings, as per the linked article, and not just sidebar for yourself? HubSpot differentiates between personal changes and system-wide changes. You need to click the gear icon.
Please also confirm that you’ve since closed the HubSpot app on your phone waited a bit, and restarted it. The changes seem to take a while to take effect.
Yes as far as I can tell I did it in the correct place. See attached screen shot.
I made the changes days ago.
I tried logging out of mobile app and logging in again.
And turning phone off and on.
As far as I can tell it looks like you can’t edit how the ‘about’ section appears on the mobile app.
Try for yourself and see.
Hi @MFormby
the contact information that you see from the mobile app
is the record preview information
you can edit this on this tab
this is different information from the one that you see on the contact’s record from desktop.
Hope this helps
@MFormby the settings Lucila is referring to are the same one I had shared before here: Customize the properties shown on records
Have you reviewed this article?
Are you talking about a preview in the list of contacts? I’m talking about the ‘about’ within the contact. I’m confused sorry.
@MFormby the settings don’t seem to apply consistently but I was able to create a custom property with your name and add it:
I’d recommend reaching out to HubSpot support if this is not working for you. By ‘this’ I’m referring to the steps outlined here: Customize the properties shown on records
I don’t have any problem editing or customising properties, they just don’t change for mobile.
@MFormby what I meant is that if the changes don’t reflect on the mobile app for you (they do for me, see my screenshot), I’d recommend reaching out to HubSpot support to check if you’re experiencing unexpected behavior.
I don’t have a paid account so there is no support.
