We use Hubspot and the system kept a record of when our contacts were last contacted. However more recent entries do not have a record in the Property. Please let me know how I can resolve this as we are a small business and use the database all the time
“Last contacted” is specifically defined as:
Last contacted: the last date and time a chat conversation, call, non-forwarded one-to-one email, meeting, or manually entered LinkedIn/SMS/WhatsApp message was logged for the contact. This is set automatically by HubSpot based on the latest date of activities in the record. For example, the Last contacted property in the record will show yesterday’s date when a user logs a call that occurred the day before.
If you’re logging activity and the property doesn’t update, that would be a bug which I’d recommend flagging with support.
If you’re logging activities that are not included in the description above, that would be expected behavior. You would have to create your own custom date property or start logging activities as expected by HubSpot for the property to reflect that.
Best regards!
Thank you. How do I contact support to repair the situation?
@KyteLesterAppoint it’s unlikely that this is an actual bug - not impossible, but very unlikely. Which type of outreach is not logged properly? If you share a bit more detail, I can explain why it might not be logged.
If you want to reach out to HubSpot support, you need to be on a paid subscription. If you are, you can contact support through the question mark icon in the top menu of the HubSpot web app.
On our contact page I have included the ‘Last Contacted’ property. It worked at first but nothing over the last year or so. Is it because we are on the free option?
@KyteLesterAppoint I’m not able to help as long as you’re not sharing how exactly you’re communicating with your contacts. No, there is no free CRM limitation.
With regard to how we are communicating with our contacts, this is generaly done outside of Hubspot. We then update the contact on an ongoing basis
@KyteLesterAppoint that explains why “Last contacted” isn’t updating - HubSpot couldn’t possibly know what you’re doing outside of the system.
Please refer again to the definition of the field, specifically the “logged for the contact” part. The communication must be logged on the contact record.
