How can I restore an erroneously permanently deleted record?

I recently deleted a record of a colleague in the same organization while trying to fix her misspelled email address. Except I chose to permanently delete her record.

Now in order to restore the same email address for her HubSpot tells me the contact has to fill out a firm giving permission to reinstate the record.

She is not a prospect or customer but works at the same non-profit with me. Can someone provide detailed guidance how I can restore her record with the same email address?

Hi @TTopcubasi,

Permanently deleted records cannot be restored. That’s (in your case: unfortunately) the entire point of a permanent deletion.

Permanently deleted records can only re-enter the CRM through a form submission. HubSpot assumes that this form submission is initiated by the contact and not someone else on their behalf. You can probably follow what I’m hinting at.

One would have to keep in mind that a form submission could trigger an email to the contact. If you’re going that route, make sure that this does not accidentally happen (e.g. by submitting this form with your own email address and a new email address).

Best regards

Hey @TTopcubasi

permanent delete cannot be restore in general

because all info and associations are deleted.

So in your case, you 'd have to create her again in the CRM.

Here is a very complete article on the differences between restorable and permanent contact deletions

Hope this helps in the future.

@Lucila-Andimol it’s not possible to manually recreate a permanently deleted record. Only a form submission can restore a permanently deleted record.

@karstenkoehler

Contacts can be created again (I didn’t mentioned how)

but now that you mention it

they can be created by a form submission

or by sending an email to an email address connect to the Inbox.

More info here

That’s exactly what I found online as well. However how does one submit a
form submission exactly? Do I have to create a form or is there one that I
can send to her to fill out?
Thanks,

Hey @TTopcubasi

you or she can complete any HubSpot form in your web or any form connected/being listened.

If are not using forms still, you can create a new one with email, name and last name and send here the link to form to complete.

OR if you have connected a general email in your Inbox, she can send an email there so that it enters the CRM again.

@TTopcubasi you would create a form that does not trigger any automatic emails and submit the form on behalf of this contact – adding their email address to the email field: Create forms (legacy)
