How can I organize and structure content ideas effectively in HubSpot?

When you already have a topic for your content, how do you effectively convert the ideas in your head into a piece that’s appealing? How do you synthesize strands of ideas from one overarching point and combine the sentences with flow that doesn’t leave your reader wanting more?

Hey @Adeola_01 and welcome, we are so glad to have you on the HubSpot Community!

Thanks for starting such an interesting topic!

I’d start by sharing these resources that might be of interest:

I’d love to hear from other Community Members: Hi @frolenkovaaa, @saruk and @shumamahmaryam do you have any tips to turn your main content idea into a cohesive and engaging piece of content?

Thanks so much and have a lovely weekend!

Hi @Adeola_01 and welcome to the Community! It’s a good question. If you’ve not created content before, it can be daunting to stare at the proverbial blank page and create something.

What I do depends on the situation a bit. But overall, I’ll take the ideas I have and just brain dump. I might create a list of the topics, then take some and group them together to see if there are common points. A big group might spark an idea for deeper content, like a webinar (or live event), an ebook (or slide deck), or other “premium” style content.

Then I may take other ideas and see if I can build a simple outline, and turn that into an article, a podcast episode, or maybe a video.

I also tend to keep my notes to refer back to, looking for sparks of ideas. Sometimes, months later, an old “what if” note turns into a fully-fledged idea and content piece.

I think your question on how to synthesize strands of ideas into a cohesive content piece for the audience is one of those “how do you write” type questions, and each writer or creator is different in their approach. But I also think the key is to just begin. Do the writing, even if it’s messy at first. Record the podcast or video, even if no one sees it. Action is better than perfection.
