How can I display content for a specific contact type (based on field) in an email?

I want to send one email to my database but want certain parts of my email to display different content based on the contact receiving the email. For example, if my list contains people where State=CA, I want a specific piece of copy to appear in the email for them that others don’t see. How do I do that?

This can be achieved with a smart rule in the marketing email editor: Create and manage smart content rules

This feature requires a Marketing Hub Professional subscription. Without one, this is not possible.
