How Buyer Intent tracks and identifies visits

Hi,

Can anyone explain how exactly Buyer Intent tracks and identifies visits compared to other tools like “Website Visits” always from hubspot or Lead champion?

Hey @MColombo, thank you for posting in our Community!

Buyer Intent tracks engagement signals from external sources, while “Website Visits” tracks activity directly on your site. In contrast, “Website Visits” tracks known and anonymous visitors directly on your website based on cookies and tracking codes.

To our top experts, @TomM2 and @Aakar-Anil do you have any other recommendations for @MColombo matter?

Thank you,

Pam

What I am finding curious at the moment is that I am seeing more website visits (in some cases significantly - like, 1000’s) vs what is showing in Buyer Intent. Can I get more clarity on the difference between how buyer intent vs website traffic is validated? I’m inclined to trust Buyer Intent more that Website Visits at the moment.

Hi Pam,

Thank you for your answer!

So I have to consider as a coincidence the fact that all the companies I find in buyer intent have also visited at least one website page?

Thank you again

Hey @MColombo,

I work with HubSpot’s support team and came across this post while researching a question. I have confirmed with our product team that the companies appearing under the Buyer Intent tab are based off website visits only. The article How to Use Buyer Intent Data to Identify Companies Ready to Buy is up to date with the following
> Buyer intent connects anonymous web visitors to known companies’ IP addresses.

So right now, this does not use additional signals like ad interactions or third-party insights.
