I am moving my website to hubspot from weebly. My website was displaying when I typed in the root url (trevorpaque.com) but not when I typed in www (www.trevorpaque.com) so I created a CNAME domain record using hubspots instructions. The only other domain records were the two A records hubspot gave me. The CNAME record didn’t fix my www. problem, and it also caused my homepage to stop showing up. I deleted the CNAME record a few days and my home page is still not displaying. Today I noticed that my other published page (/discovery-call) does show up, just not my home page.
I just noticed, the other published page (/discovery-call) doesn’t show up in other browsers.
Hi @TheTrev , I was able to view your contact page, but not your home page.
Can you check whether this setting is enabled?
If you are only using one language, I recommend disabling it to see if it fixes the issue - I helped someone else recently with a similar issue and this was the cause.
Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for the suggestion. I checked and it is switched off.
Best regards,
Trevor
@TheTrev you’re welcome, sorry that wasn’t it!
When you connected your domain, does it show in domain settings as www.?
So no, it does not show as www. I created a redirected domain www.trevorpaque.com and directed it to trevorpaque.com
@TheTrev looks like we wrote at the same time, jinx! ![]()
and you’ve verified the URL on the page you created for the home page, that it is set to be the domain and no page slug?
It has to be something with the page if the /contact page is working
and did you setup the redirect with /* for the www?
No, I didn’t use * for the www. I used www. Also to clarify, it seems like my contact page is not loading. It opens in my safari browser on my computer, but not my crome browser on my computer or my safari browser on my phone. I’m not that tech savy but I think maybe that is because of cookies? Should I use * instead of www?
For redirects, I would add these as a start point:
http://trevorpaque.com to https://trevorpaque.com
http://trevorpaque.com/\* to https://trevorpaque.com/\*
http://www.trevorpaque.com to https://trevorpaque.com
http://www.trevorpaque.com/\* to https://trevorpaque.com/\*
This should cover all of your bases for SSL and WWW
As for the contact page, I’m on Mac with Chrome and it works - and I just learned what Rolfing is.
I also checked Safari and Firefox and had no issue. I have an Android phone and it worked in chrome there as well.
For you it might be cache, so you can add
?hsCacheBuster=7472
to the end of the URL like this
to test if it is cache - you’ll need to use a random number each time.
@TheTrev here’s an article on how to setup the flexible redirects in HubSpot
Thank you for the information about the redirects. The contact page is coming up in my other browsers now too. It sounds like you think the problem is with my home page?
@TheTrev yes, can you send a screenshot of the URL setup on the Settings tab for the home page?
Yes, how do I find the settings tab for the home page?
Marketing > Website > Website Pages
Open the Page
Change to the Settings tab - top center of page
Page URL is just above the meta description box
@TheTrev something you did worked - I can see the page:
Great, it is working here too. I’m not sure why it is working now. Thank you for your help. It was really nice of you to spend so much time corresponding with me. I really appreciate it.
@TheTrev no problem, sometimes it is just a matter of time for the server to update. Happy to help and best of luck with your new website!
ok, and do you have a redirect for www.trevorpaque.com to trevorpaque.com?
