Hi @RMurad,
While HubSpot itself does not have any features to do this automatically, it offers tools that can greatly facilitate this process.
Generally, the first thing you’ll want to do is create a custom property that has two values, it could be named Still at this company and have two values, “Yes” and “No”. You can learn about creating custom properties here. This will later allow you to categorize your contacts into the two segments by this value, for example by creating two active lists; one that filters out contacts with “Yes”, one that filters out contacts with “No”. (Additionally, I’d recommend placing this property in the contact sidebar for easy access.)
Have you imported these contacts in HubSpot already? If not, I’d would strongly recommend to wait. Especially if you’re on a free account, uploading old and inactive email address might cause your account to be blocked. For good.
That’s why, as a next step, I would recommend using an email validation tool like Neverbounce, Verifalia etc. With these tools you can check whether an email would go through to that contact or not. If not, it’s likely because that email account does not exist anymore. These tools will test this for you (for a price, of course) and you’ll get a list of all email addresses which will bounce. Most probably, these are the contacts that have changed their jobs and “abandoned” their old employer’s inbox.
The contacts who did not bounce are very likely still at their job. You can import these into HubSpot.
The bounced contacts you should research and track your progress in an Excel file before uploading them into HubSpot. Keep in mind that consent into sales/marketing communication is email based and you do not automatically have the consent to email a contact at their new job. When in doubt, always consult a legal professional, since my post here does not constitute legal advice.
So all in all, you’ll still have to do a lot of manual work (or have someone help you). There are tools out there which will surface the email address and more information about a LinkedIn contact for you, however not all of these are GDPR compliant.
Hope this helps!
