We’ve had a massive amount of inaccurate merges and need to get rid of all the emails in the “Additional Emails” field and essentially just start over. How would we do that? We’re looking at around 5,200 records. Not all of them are incorrect, but since there’s no way to know which ones are and which ones aren’t, we’re thinking it would be best to just get rid of all of them. I’ve tried using a workflow, but the additional email field isn’t one we can clear. I’ve also tried to export all the merged contacts, remove the values in the Additional Email column, and then reimport with an empty column, but it doesn’t remove the additional emails on import. Any suggestions? Is there a better way to handle the situtation?

Hey @PPlant4 ,

Do all 5,200 records have an additional email?

Thanks,
Louise

Yes. In many cases more than 1 additional email.

Hey @PPlant4 ,

I’ve spent a bit of time looking into this and so far I haven’t really had any joy unfortunately.

The frustrating thing is that when you export Contacts with an additional email from HubSpot, they show up in a column called Additional email addresses, but in HubSpot itself there is no ‘Additional email addresses’ property. Additional emails are simply stored under the ‘Email’ property.

Because of this there is no easy way to bulk edit the additional email addresses. Unfortunately I think it is going to have to be a manual job.

I found someone who faced[a similar issue](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Make-quot-additional-emails-quot-easier-to-work-with-in-Lists/idi-p/810455) in the Ideas forum. I have upvoted it and it would be great if you could too. This is where HubSpot go to find product and features updates, so the more traction something has the better.

Sorry I couldn’t give you better news on this.

Thanks,

Louise
