Help - creating custom team views also edits default view in contact records

Hello!

I am very new to HubSpot and I’m currently trying to create different views on the contact records based on our different teams need.

Now, I am not quite sure what it is that I’m doing wrong, but when I click on “create team view” and I’ve hooked off “assign to team XYZ” to mark that it is not for everyone. However, when I save this team view, my default view now looks the same as the team view I created.

What is it that I’m doing wrong and what can I do to avoid this happening?

Info: it does say “currently editing: about this contact (account wide section)” under section editior but I can’t seem to edit or change this in any way at first glance at least.

Thank you for your time!

Hey @RenateK, Welcome to HubSpot!

Looks like what you are experiencing, where the default view is getting affected by changes made to the team view, could be related to the settings or permissions.

Could you please ensure that you are making changes only to the settings specific to that team view? Double-check that the filters, columns, and other display options are configured for the particular team’s requirements.

I want to invite our top experts to this conversation, @danmoyle, @Josh, @RBozeman0 any recommendations for @RenateK?

Thank you,

Pam

Hello Pam,

Thank you for your response!

I tested around yesterday and I identified my error.

Our HubSpot account was set up with 14 properties in 1 section which was a bit overwhelming and in my confusion regarding I edited “about this contact” (which is account wide) by mistake.

Now that I’ve gotten to test it a bit more I understand better how to set this up and how to navigate the sections.

Onwards, I will split the properties into smaller sections and use either team view or the conditional function to ease the use.

Thank you for your time and help!

Best regards,

Renate
