/_hcms/status failing despite SSL active and all DNS records verified

Hello! hoping someone can help with a persistent issue. I have a custom domain (theeddit.com) connected to hubspot on the free plan, with DNS managed through Cloudflare.

My website is still returning a 404 error and on the Domains & URLS page, it says “SSL activation for theeddit.com is processing” (and it has been that way all day, over 4 hours.)

I’m able to verify my DNS records, and my SSL certificate is active. The ONLY failure I can see is under reverse proxy verification, https://theeddit.com/_hcms/status = failed. It returns a 404 error. /_hcms/diagnostics and every other check passes. On the CloudFlare side, I turned off proxies and purged the cache.

Anyone had a similar issue? I’m stumped!

Thank you!

Hey @JEddy0,

Welcome to the Community!

Thanks for all the details above. I have not personally resolved this issue before, but I did find this existing community thread that I believe may be able to point you in the right direction!

In the meantime, tagging in some of our Top Contributors to see if they have any tips and tricks on this

Hey @JWingate2, @evaldas, @GRajput -- Do you have any suggestions for @JEddy0 on this?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you! Update, I deleted and reconnected the domain a few times and now I am able to host at the root level! I still see that https://theeddit.com/_hcms/status = failed, but I’m doing a direct connection (no proxy) now so I am just not worrying about it -- as long as the website works!
