Hi there,

I’m having an issue where two of my clients are receiving a hard bounce notification whenever I send an email. There are three clients all under the same domain @teelin. The one we were able to troubleshoot through someone at hubspot who got her emails to go through. The clients have allowlisted the address for anything @teelin it seems to be a hang up on our end. Any help on how to solve this would greatly be appreciated!!

Thanks,

What is the hard bounce reason that Hubspot is returning for those emails in the recipients data?

Hi! Thanks for replying. The message says Hard bounced (unkown user) Server Response 5.0.0

It also lists a date from 2023 even though this was an email I sent less than a week ago.

An unknown user would prevent the system from trying again. Was the address previously bounced and now is good and you are trying to resend? Can you go to the contact record to try and unbounce the record to try and send again?

So I tried to follow the steps in the link but I unfortunately don’t have the unbounce button since I’m on the free version of hubspot. So it looks like the reason why some contacts bounced were because of spam and others have bounced due to being rejected by the recipient’s email security filter.

Unfortunately the free version is very restrictive and not subject to the same rules as the paid accounts are where I would not recommend their use outside of testing only. Your only options would be to either upgrade the hub to a paid subscription or consider an integration to email to those contacts outside of Hubspot.
