# Google Ads - Customized tracking

The Google Ads connection in HubSpot displays an error “Contact tracking error” due to “Tracking customized”.

I followed the instructions from the Knowledge Base, all custom tracking has been removed at the account / ad group / ad level. I hit refresh tracking in HubSpot but it keeps giving me the same error message.

I’m at a loss. Does it take time to upate? Should I disconnect and reconnect the account?

So the HubSpot tracking template is getting added correctly to the Tracking Template field:

{lpurl}?utm\_term={keyword}&utm\_campaign={\_utmcampaign}&utm\_source=adwords&utm\_medium=ppc&hsa\_acc=XXXXXXXXXX&hsa\_cam={campaignid}&hsa\_grp={adgroupid}&hsa\_ad={creative}&hsa\_src={network}&hsa\_tgt={targetid}&hsa\_kw={keyword}&hsa\_mt={matchtype}&hsa\_net=adwords&hsa\_ver=3

but it’s still giving me the error message.
