Google Ads Competitive Metrics in HubSpot Ads

HubSpot Ads needs the following fields/columns from Google Ads in order to determine the effectiveness/impact of the keywords on the account.

This group is called “Competitive Metrics” within Google Ads. They consist of three columns:

  1. Search impr. share
  2. Search lost IS (rank)
  3. Search lost IS (budget) *only available on Campaign Level

These three columns tell you how your keyword/campaign is doing from an Impression Share perspective. In other words, number of impressions you’ve received divided by the estimated number of impressions you were eligible to receive.

#2 tells you the Impression Share you lost due to your rank (aka. Avg. Position). #3 tells you the Impressions Share lost due to your current budget.

At a quick glance, you are able to see how far your account is reaching your audience by the keywords on your campaign and if the ad rank and budget is affecting this in any way, shape, or form.

I consider this a must and would think is quite easy to add to the HubSpot Ads UI. This would benefit anyone managing Google Ads within HubSpot.

@Yazz thank you for highlighting this. We are actively investigating the metrics customers have access to within the ad networks that they wish were also available in HubSpot’s reporting. We have not finalized the list of metrics we will add, but we do expect to expand the set of what’s available this year.

Hi everyone! My name is Hallie, and I’m a Program Manager on the CXM Team. Our product team confirmed that this isn’t on the roadmap at this time, because other metrics were implemented into Ads as they were investigating adding these. With that said, we are moving this back to ‘idea submitted’ so please continue to leave any feedback if this is still a feature you’d find useful. Thanks!
