# Get All Notes associated with contacts

Hey all,

I am currently trying to get a list of all the notes associated just with contacts. This one does not seem to work

Hey, @TKizlo 👋 The Search API won’t return associations in the way you are looking for. You’ll either need to make two requests, one to the Search API and then a follow-up request to the [**Associations endpoints,**](https://developers.hubspot.com/beta-docs/guides/api/crm/associations/associations-v4) to get what you are after. Or, if your portal has access, you can do this in a single request using our [**GraphQL**](https://developers.hubspot.com/beta-docs/guides/cms/content/data-driven-content/graphql/query-hubspot-data-using-graphql) endpoint.
