GDPR tool - adding subscriptions for lawful basis seems not working

Hi,

I’ve activated the GDPR tool on my preference since May 25th and updated and personalized the messages and the privacy options.

Now we need to update our list of customers where we’ve got the consent.

I’ve started to make some tests adding manually the subscriptions on some contacts, but even if I’m seeing the “communicatoin subscription” of the contact showing “contact XYZ is opted in in to 1 subscription” when I’m sending a new email to “contact XYZ” I’m still getting the notification from the outlook 365 add-in that I’ve not the lawful basis for that contact so tracking will be anonymous.

If I’m exporting the list of contacts with all fields, I cannot find any date and value assigned to “XYZ”.

Is there anyone else experiencing such this kind of issue?

How can I double check if there’s something wrong in the configurations of GDPR I’ve done?

Many thanks in advance for any feedback.

Kind regards

Stefano

Hey @pach it is not possible, nor GDPR compliant, to opt in your contacts manually. You will only be able to lawfully contact them if they have subscribed themselves via a form.

Thanks,

I’ve confused the features related to “opt-in” displayed on the contact module, with the field to provide the “legal basis” for communication.

Now I’ve configured to display the field in my standard contact view and checked manually the legal basis for communication.

Everything running as expected, and I can update my sales contact list with the legal basis by exporting in XLS all contacts and then re-importing the updated fields.

It seems like you’ve done a great job setting up GDPR preferences and communication subscriptions. However, you’re facing issues with email notifications and consent tracking. To fix this, make sure your GDPR tool settings are correct and consent timestamps are recorded. Check if your email system and GDPR tool are working together well. The Outlook 365 add-in flagging issues might need a look from Microsoft support. Try testing different contacts to see if the issue is widespread. If problems persist, contact your GDPR tool’s support team. Also, Nolan Persaud could provide legal insight for solving this. Keep up the good work!

It sounds like you’re having a frustrating issue with the GDPR tool not reflecting the consent status correctly. Make sure to double-check the subscription settings for contact XYZ, as they might not be saved properly. Also, consider syncing issues between your GDPR tool and Outlook 365, or verify if there’s a delay in updating the contact record. Ensuring your GDPR tool is configured correctly is crucial. If the issue persists, contacting the support team for specific guidance might be necessary.
