There is currently no way to treat form submit as consent for communication (e.g. on e “Subscribe to newsletter” form) - as a workaround we use “legitimate interest” so we can display privacy wording BUT not need to have another checkbox in addition to the person submitting the form which sole purpose is to subscribe.
The problem with this workaround is that this is it is then incorrectly recorded as legitimate interest when really it should be consent
