# Forward a dropdown field from a form

Hi everyone,  
I have a hubspot form that I need to forward the values to a non hubspot form.  
This works for single line input field - but not for dropdown fields.  
Anyone what I am doing wrong here?

state\_ddl is the field that does not work.  
Form is here: [Trial Test (betterimpact.com)](https://www.betterimpact.com/trial-test)  
When submitted the URL will show State=unknown.

Given the form field in question uses a “select” html element, you may want to try using “select” instead of “input” within your mapping. For example:

```lia-code-sample
// Instead of
var state = $form.find('input[name="state_ddl"]').val();

// Try ...
var state = $form.find('select[name="state_ddl"]').val();

```
