Format "displayed" phone numbers for Personalized Properties

In my daily work day I have to send emails to clients confirming the telephone number where we will be contacting them. I should also mention that my business is based in the United States, and that 100% of my clients are also in the United States.

I use personalized items in my email templates that automatically insert basic client information -- like: “Hello [John] I am confirming that you requested a call back to [PHONE NUMBER]…”

The problem is that when the phone number property is added automatically, it displays as “+15555555555” instead of “(555) 555-5555”.

This is very hard to read when in an email, and it also gives clients the “feeling” that I am contacting them from overseas (since NO ONE in the US would ever type a phone number that way).

There should be an OPTION that when the number is inserted in an email it would automatically display the same way it is displayed to me. Ideally “(555) 555-5555”, but I would be ok with “555-555-5555”, or even “555.555.5555”.

This doesn’t seem like it would be that hard to design since the way it is displayed to me is already “(555) 555-5555”, and I know for a tact that it is not a technical impossibility. Could we get someone to develop this easy fix?

:waving_hand:Quick update here - we recently made an update to the display of phone number properties in personalization tokens. Aware that this isn’t exactly what was requested in this post, but wanted to share as a small usability improvement:
