# Form submission API rate limit

Hi! We have an app (non-private) that will be used to manage forms for potentially multiple clients, and are using the authenticated form submit api to submit form data on their behalf. ([https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/forms/submit\_form\_v3\_authentication](https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/forms/submit_form_v3_authentication))  
This api has a rate limit of 100 / 10 seconds, could we clarify if this applies on a per-form basis, or per-app making the request? ie. if we call the form submit endpoint with form id ‘1234’, does this affect calling the form submit endpoint with form id ‘5678’?

Hi roranger,

To answer your question, the rate limit for the authenticated form submit API is neither per-form nor per-app. It is actually per portal. This means that if you exceed the limit for one form, it will affect your ability to make requests for all forms in that portal.

However, there are ways to work around this rate limit. For example, we use batch requests in our qoute-apps to limit the number of requests per second, which helps us staying within the rate limit while still being able to manage forms for multiple clients.
