Form error message 'Must contain only numbers, +()-. and x.'

Hi all,

I have a form set up which has been functional with no issues for months.

We have had the following error message reported in a required field for an email address -

  • Must contain only numbers, +()-. and x.

Has anyone seen this before, and if so, know how to rectify it.

Hey @BAdmin3 this should only show for number field types. The email field should not show this error message.
If you look at the internal value for the email field, does it show “email” in italics beside the field label?
It should look like this:

If not, you may be using a different, number property for this with the label of “email”.

Thank you for your reply TomM2. You are correct, it says ‘fax’ not email. How can I chnage this once a contact property has been created do you know? Thanks

You shouldn’t need to change the contact property itself, just swap out the form field. If you delete the fax field and drag in your “email” field you can just use the default email field!
