One URL is all you need to see and experience the motherland of all email marketing template creation: stripo.email and I hope SOMEONE at HS logs in and takes note of how simple and comprehensive that system is. It even allows access to full HTML and ALL CSS.
And yes, they have a HS connection.
The question is, why is HS’s template builder SO complicated? Why is the UX SO bad? I have never used a system this complicated. They create countless restrictions that masquerade as simplicity and for techies, they are essentially forgotten about:
- Unless I use raw HTML, I can’t create media queries that “over-rule” HS’s
- BASIC show/hide rules in the WYSIWYG editor don’t exist when I want to control different padding, margins, images, etc. in a given template for mobile vs. desktop (e.g. if I create a two-column header, I can’t left-align a logo on desktop and center it on mobile)
- The template builder itself is impractical. Let me use a drag and drop editor and then replace elements with object tags, inline and toggle between a preview and object (code) view
- And offer an object library INLINE that I can search and choose from a list for placement
PLEASE! The most simple fix would be to allow for custom CSS to be added within the <head> that takes priority over HS’s. Stop trying to be the police and let us have the access we need to do our jobs. PLEASE!
