For how long to keep closed won deals on the pipeline??

Hi All,

Similar questions were asked on this forum, but I am still not sure on what is the best practice to apply here.

Our last deal stage on the pipeline is closed won. we’re just starting to rollout HubSpot, but I can see that after a few essay writer more quarters we’ll end up with an endless scroll of deals in that stage. This can be obviously controlled using filters (close date, etc), but I’m wondering whether we should have any other pipeline when these “old, closed won and recognized deals” should be moved. Obviously deleting them is not an option.

Thanks!

Hi @ShepherdKai,

The filter is definitely your best option: filtering out closed deals by Deal stage. If you still want to see recent deals, you could create an additional filtered view based on deal Last activity date. This would show you recently closed deals, e.g. from this quarter.

I would not move these deals to another pipeline. If you have any automation set up, this might create a big mess. Even without automation, it will create confusion in reporting.

It’s really best to keep them where they are and filter them out. Similar to an Microsoft Excel or Google Sheet: You probably wouldn’t move rows to another sheet – you would permanently filter them out.

Hope this helps!

Hi Karsten, we do have a similar issue.

We only want to filter the deal stages “won” and “lost” by calendar year (2024) – all previous deal stages should show all deals, not filtered (as especially in very early stages they come to rest there for quite a while).
Do you see any possibilty or solution here? Workarounds welcome!
Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

We have the same issue. We would like the closed deals to follow our fiscal year. How do we do that? Right now we are seing all closed deals for all years which makes it a bit difficult to see how far we are from our newbiz target this year … HELP please
