Summary:
Introduce a feature in HubSpot where users can display a dynamic set of deal cards in the right sidebar, filtered by selected labels. This would allow clear segmentation of deals directly within a record view, based on how labels define the relationship between contacts and deals (and contacts and tickets and so on).
Problem:
In many setups, labels are actively used to define the nature of the relationship between a contact and associated deals (e.g. “Decision Maker”, “Influencer”, “Renewal”, “Upsell”). However, HubSpot does not currently allow users to leverage these labels to structure or filter deal visibility within the sidebar. As a result, all associated deals are shown in one list, making it harder to distinguish between different types of relationships.
Proposed Solution:
Allow users to configure multiple deal cards in the right sidebar, where each card:
- Is tied to a specific label (or set af labels)
- Only displays deals where the association to the current record matches those labels
Example Setup:
A user could configure:
- Deal Card 1: Shows deals with label “New Business”
- Deal Card 2: Shows deals with label “Upsell”
- Deal Card 3: Shows deals with label “Renewal”
Each card would only display the deals relevant to that specific relationship type.
Key Insight:
Since labels already define the relationship between contacts/companies and deals, it is a natural extension to allow filtering directly on this relation. This makes the sidebar not just a list of associations, but a structured view of relationship types.
Key Features:
- Ability to add multiple deal cards in the sidebar
- Per-card configuration of label-based filters
- Support for single or multiple labels per card
- Independent sorting and display settings per card
- Optional naming of each card (e.g. “Upsell Deals”, “Renewals”)
Value:
- Creates a structured and intuitive overview of deals
- Makes relationship context immediately visible
- Reduces cognitive load compared to one long unfiltered list
- Aligns UI with how labels are already used in data modeling
Additional Notes:
This feature builds directly on existing association labels and would significantly increase their practical value by making them actionable in the UI.
