Filter custom object based on associated company records

This is critical to our business’s CRM functionality. If we can’t figure out a workaround then a large part of our reporting is shot. PLEASE, Hubspot, listen to your customers on this one!

+1

Yes please! In addition to the filter, to be able to create a custom object list based on associations (known/unknown) .

Genuinely can’t believe it has been 3 years for this initial suggestion and still not looked into. It is becoming increasingly frustrating that some basic functions that you’d expect of a CRM are not possible on HubSpot. PLEASE! Look into this, what is the actual point of being able to create Custom Objects without having a chance to do anything with data.

Can we please have this? It is very need as our filtering is very manual and error prone now since we use a text property which has a copy if the associated custom object name…

This is very much needed!

It seems silly that we have the ability to associate records to custom objects but no ability to filter based on those associations. We need this feature.

Yes, we need this!

This is an absolute roadblock for our work. We’re using a custom object to track the conferences we attend and activities and Deals as a result of attendance. Seems this has been a known issue for some time but doesn’t seem to be solved yet going on 4 years. Issue being is if we report on the conference object HS cannot help us filter activities and deals just associated to that object. It drags in all associated records by the contact(s) may have been in the activity noted and associated to the conference object. Our HS consultant help guide us on building reporting which we can’t use unfortunately since we can filter for the known custom object.

Are there any updates to this issue?

Upvoted this…Advance filtering is limited in list views overall with associated records and needs to be enhanced more to allow the filter vs needed to leverage reports to find what you are looking for whether a quick drill down or editing needs. The platform also doesn’t allow for sorting on those columns when adding to your personalized views still requiring someone to use reports. Not as an efficient process with the potential it can be.

We need this as well!

Would be great to have a cross-object filter on index pages. This could open so many possibilities. Some concrete example could be:
- On the contact index list identify the ones that have a company with country A

- On the deal object filter the ones where the company is part of a specific campaign

Etc…

I want to filter the Contacts index page views using associated Company fields (City/Country/Industry), ideally scoped to the Primary associated company (or an association label).

Use case:
When I travel to a city, I need a quick view like: Contacts where Primary company City = Copenhagen, then bulk enroll them into a “request to meet” sequence.

Current limitation:
Contacts views only filter on contact properties. “Associated company” filters only allow “is any of / is none of / is known / is unknown” — you can’t filter by company fields like City.

Workarounds (clunky):

Build a contact list/segment based on associated company City (and Primary).

Copy company City onto a contact property via workflow.

What would help:
Add cross-object filtering in Contacts views:

Company → City (etc.) with ability to select Primary/label

Save as a view and use for bulk actions like Enroll in sequence
