I am trying to map a Hubspot Contact field to the Description field on the Lead Object in Salesforce. I can see the field when attempting to map, but it is not selectable and doesnt give me a reason why

There are two fields in Salesforce, a Lead field and a Contact field - that share the same internal name called “Description.”
Because of this, the integration sync settings in HubSpot only allow us to select the Salesforce Contact field version of the description property.. which in this case is called the “Contact Description.” That’s why you can’t select the other description property.
Since both of these fields in Salesforce (Lead and Contact - “description”) share an internal name, HubSpot CAN send data to both the Lead AND Contact fields.
We cannot map these two fields separately - Description (and Contact Description are default Salesforce fields. Meaning, a single field mapping will sync data to both the Lead and the Contact fields (depending on whether the HubSpot record is syncing with a Lead or a Contact).
So to fix the issue here, you’ll want to use Contact Description for the property mapping.
