I’d like to submit a feature request regarding the ability to edit the text displayed for unsubscribe links in email footers for 1 on 1 communications. This feature is critical from a security and privacy standpoint.
In our case, we operate under multiple alias names for legitimate privacy and branding reasons. Given HubSpot’s previous experience with social engineering-based data breaches, we are particularly concerned about exposure risks when default unsubscribe links reveal or imply corporate identity details without control over the wording.
By allowing users to customize the visible text of unsubscribe links—while retaining the required compliance and functionality—HubSpot can offer:
- A way to obscure sensitive alias names from the public
- Stronger resistance to doxxing or impersonation
- Greater flexibility for brand-specific messaging while staying legally compliant
We believe this is an important step to align privacy controls with real-world security threats, especially in regulated or high-risk industries.
