Favicon not displaying on linked PDFs

Hello, friends.

Is there a way to get the Favicon that I’ve uploaded in my HubSpot account to also appear on linked files like PDFs?

Best, Holly

@HollyP,

No, you have to have html to render a favicon.

There is no html involved in a direct link to a pdf.

You could probably do some hacky stuff to put the pdf in an html page, but I wouldnt recommend it.

good luck out there,

d

Thanks, @dennisedson. I understand. Thanks so much for the explanation.

I hope this is something that we can look forward to down the road. It has an undone sort of look to it, and it would be wonderful to have that content also branded with a Favicon.

Hi @HollyP,

I know it’s an old post and I hope you’ve found an answer to your questions since then, but I’ve tumbled across the same case and I found a way out.

I though I would share it with you - just in case.

For having the favicon on my PDFs as well, I go under Marketing > Files and Templates > Files > Click on the PDF i’m interested about.

Here, click on the drop-down menu “File URL by domain” and I select my main url (www.yourcompany.com). Then, I test it by clicking on “Open in a new window” and see if my favicon appears (it only works if the favicon is set up properly as explained here Edit a brand's logo, favicon, brand colors, fonts, and theme).

Cheers!

@SoleneC , thank you for updating this! I think you deserve to own the solution here!
