Unable to export views in HubSpot – error message despite admin approval

Hi everyone,

I need help with an issue regarding export permissions in HubSpot.

When I try to export a list or a view, I get the following error message:
“You are not authorized to export a view. Please ask an Account Administrator to grant you access.”

The problem is: My administrator has already assigned me the appropriate permissions. Despite this authorization, the export is still blocked.

Could you tell me exactly where in the settings this permission needs to be enabled? Did we perhaps miss a step, or is there a specific setting for “exporting views” that needs to be activated separately from the general CRM permissions?

Thanks in advance for your support!

Hey @Olivia_L,

Welcome to the Community!

Hey there! Thanks for sharing the details on this. Permissions issues like this can definitely be tricky, especially when it looks like everything should already be in order. Though, I would assume that either your admin missed the correct permission or if they confirm you have the ‘export’ permission then I’d suggest you attempt clearing your cache and trying again.

This Community thread directly addresses steps for the export permission: Limiting data export abilities for users.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Olivia_L,

My admin has already assigned me the appropriate permissions. Despite being enabled, the export is still blocked.

Which specific permissions did your admin enable for you?

In principle, the export should be possible with this toggle:

If that doesn’t work, export approvals could be another reason: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/en/import-and-export/export-approvals

For this, you would need the permission to export without approval (see the article above), assuming the beta is enabled for your account.

Best regards,
