To be able to see more of the text, we would like to be able to expand column width of mail overview in inbox dynamically and per user.

This is a good idea. I think there is too much negative space in these boxes that is not utilized. There could be better tags spacing or wider columns so I dont see everything truncated. I would even rater have a top/bottom arrangement instead of a side-by side one. There is just not enough room to see what I need to in the skinny column. And the logo does nothing for me since half my conversations dont have one or are feeds into my inbox from my won website (form collection).
