hello! I have an active list that has about 31,000 contacts in it. I want to convert them all to a static list so I can delete a few of them from the list. I selected all of the contacts in the active list and said “Add to Static List”. When I did that I got an error message that didn’t give me any additional information. Any thoughts on why this is happening? ---

Hi @Anicklow, Could you rephrase what you want to do? Convert an active list into a static list? Or add contacts from an active list to a static list? Generally, unexplained errors usually either resolve within 24 hours or by trying in another browser or private tab. Best regards! ---

I want to convert an active list into a static list. Should I go through a different process? I tried this action yesterday and got the same result, I was hoping that it would work today. ---

Hi @Anicklow, This is currently not possible with one click. Other users have requested this already from the product team: [Convert active to static list](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/convert-active-to-static-list/idi-p/276065) The easiest workaround would be [creating an empty static list](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/lists/create-active-or-static-lists#static-lists) and then adding the contacts from your active list to the static list. Your steps would be: 1. Create static list 2. In your static list, you should see a sidebar with “Filter type”, select “List memberships” 3. Now, find and select your active list 4. Save the list Alternatively, when cloning a list, you can select to clone it as a a static list. Let me know if you need any clarification on the steps above. Hope this helps! ---

Okay I ended up just cloning the active list, and when i do that there is an option to make it static. So that worked for me! thanks for all your help! ---
