Enable the ChatGPT connector to read HubSpot Inbox and WhatsApp conversations

The HubSpot connector for ChatGPT currently provides read-only access to core CRM objects, but it does not support engagements or HubSpot Conversations Inbox content. Please add permission-controlled, read-only access to Inbox conversations, especially connected WhatsApp conversations and call transcripts.

The connector should return:

  • Contact and conversation association.

  • Conversation and message IDs.

  • Message timestamp.

  • Inbound/outbound direction.

  • Prospect, HubSpot user or automation as the actor.

  • Message text.

  • Attachment type and available metadata.

  • Call transcripts and summaries.

  • Missing or inaccessible content indicators.

  • Links or citations to the supporting messages.

This would allow ChatGPT to analyze primary communication evidence instead of relying on manually written CRM notes. Important use cases include determining:

  • Whether bilateral communication occurred.

  • What specific interest or questions the prospect expressed.

  • Whether relevant information was addressed.

  • Whether a follow-up, appointment or other next step was expressly accepted.

  • Whether the prospect explicitly declined or only stopped responding.

  • Whether the Contact’s CRM status and Deal accurately reflect the conversation.

  • Whether every prospect received consistent and timely follow-up.

We tested this use case by exporting one day of HubSpot WhatsApp conversations through another AI connector. The analysis successfully distinguished uncontacted prospects, bilateral communication, incomplete qualification, accepted appointments, explicit no-interest responses and communication opt-outs. Native access through the HubSpot connector for ChatGPT would eliminate manual exports and enable evidence-based auditing while respecting each user’s existing HubSpot permissions.

The requested capability is read-only. ChatGPT would not need permission to send messages or change CRM records. Human users would retain control over Lead Status, Deals and follow-up actions.

This should be available now - please try it and tell us how you find it.

Thanks — I tested this today after disconnecting and reconnecting the HubSpot connector in ChatGPT.

I still don’t appear to have access to HubSpot Conversations Inbox or connected WhatsApp conversation content.

ChatGPT can currently access CRM objects and engagements such as Contacts, Deals, Calls, Emails, Meetings, Notes and Tasks, but the connector does not expose a Conversations/Inbox/WhatsApp message object or retrieval capability.

Could you clarify how the new capability is supposed to be accessed? Is there a new permission/scope, beta that needs to be enabled, or a particular ChatGPT/HubSpot connector action I should use?

If useful, I can provide a concrete test case. The expected result would be for ChatGPT to retrieve the WhatsApp messages associated with a specific HubSpot Contact and return the message text, timestamps, direction and participants.
