Enable Frozen (Pinned) Columns When Editing Line Items in Deals

When adding or editing line items within a deal, the columns currently scroll out of view as you move horizontally across the table. This makes it easy to lose track of which line item you are editing, especially when working with deals that contain many line items.

A solution would be to introduce the ability to freeze/pin columns, similar to how HubSpot already allows freezing on index pages (e.g., Contacts, Companies, Deals).

For example:

  • Keep the “Multiplier” or “Manufacturer Net Amount” columns pinned on the left while scrolling.

  • Allow users to choose which columns remain frozen, ensuring clarity when updating commissions, startup fees, or other fields.

Impact:

  • Increases accuracy when editing multiple line items.
  • Reduces scrolling confusion and mistakes.
  • Creates consistency with HubSpot’s existing table behaviors on index pages.

This small enhancement would significantly improve usability for sales teams handling complex quotes and multi-line deals.

Hi everyone,

I’m one of the tech leads on HubSpot’s Products and Line Items team, and I wanted to share that this feature is now in development. Our team is working on adding support for frozen (pinned) columns in the line item editor to make it easier to stay oriented when working with wide tables or multiple line items.

We’ll share another update here once it’s ready to roll out. Thanks for your feedback — it’s been a big help in prioritizing this improvement!

Super news, @justinliu - is there a beta where we can enrol? We would love to provide some hands-on feedback!

Hi everyone,

Following up to close the loop - pinned column support in the Line Item Editor has now been delivered.

You can now pin key columns so they remain visible while scrolling horizontally across wide line item tables. Users can choose to pin anywhere from 0 up to 3 columns, depending on their workflow.

Frozen columns are supported across Commerce apps that allow editing line item table columns and align with the same behavior you’ll find on HubSpot’s CRM object library pages.

Thanks again for the feedback and example shared here. If you have follow-up ideas or additional enhancements you’d like to see, feel free to keep the conversation going in a new community idea.
