Enable Deal Creation Requirement for One Qualified Lead Stage, But Not All

Currently, HubSpot allows you to either require a deal creation for all Qualified Lead stages or for none, but it doesn’t provide the option to apply this requirement to just one specific stage. We need the flexibility to require a deal creation for one Qualified Lead stage, while leaving other stages without this requirement.

This is important because some of our leads transition into partnership opportunities, which we manage as a custom object rather than a deal. If we’re forced to create a deal for all Qualified Lead stages, we end up marking some of these leads as disqualified, which misrepresents the actual success rate of our leads.

Right now, the setting for requiring a deal creation applies universally to all Qualified Lead stages, and turning it off for one stage also turns it off for others. It would be incredibly helpful to have the ability to toggle this setting on a per-stage basis.

Needed, definitely. We have multiple qualified stages (e.g. agreeing on terms), but they’re not ready to be a deal.
A workaround is to turn the setting off for all stages, and create a deal via a workflow when the deal hits X stage. However, this breaks the lead reporting as currently a Deal can only be associated to a lead if the deal is manually created via this setting being on.
