Enable Contact Enrichment for All Business Email Addresses (Primary and Alternate)

In HubSpot, contact records can often have:

  1. Multiple valid business email addresses (common in B2B when a contact has more than one company, changes roles, or uses multiple domains), and/or
  2. Both a personal email address (such as Gmail or Yahoo, often collected from forms and set as primary) and a business email address (stored as an alternate or additional email).

Currently, HubSpot’s contact enrichment only leverages the primary email address for eligibility and enrichment. This presents two key challenges:

  • If a contact has multiple business emails, only the primary is considered for enrichment—potentially missing relevant enrichment data tied to an alternate business address.
  • If the primary email is personal but a business email exists as an alternate, enrichment does not happen at all, leaving many valid business contacts under-enriched.

Request:
Please enhance contact enrichment functionality so that HubSpot uses any valid business email associated with a contact, whether primary or alternate. Enrichment should be possible:

  • When multiple business emails are present (enrich using any/all business addresses on record),
  • When a personal email is primary but a business email is present as an alternate.

Benefits:

  • Expands data accuracy and enrichment coverage for contacts with complex email histories (such as mergers, dual roles, or contact record consolidation).
  • Ensures that business contacts who sign up with a personal email are still eligible for enrichment if a business address is present elsewhere on the record.
  • Helps prevent missed enrichment opportunities and improves CRM data quality overall.

Current Limitation:
Only the primary email address—if it is a business domain—is eligible for enrichment. Alternate or additional business email addresses, and any business addresses that aren’t primary, are ignored for enrichment purposes.

Proposed Solution:
Allow enrichment to use any business email address found on a contact, whether it is set as primary or is listed as an alternate/additional email field. This could be implemented as an automatic process or a setting configurable by admins.

Thank you for considering this improvement to make HubSpot CRM richer and more flexible for real-world contact data!
