Using this [endpoint](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api-reference/crm-lists-v3/lists/get-crm-v3-lists-), I get an empty result set despite a successful API call. I can see many lists / segments in our Hubspot account. Why are none of them being returned using this? My private app has the scope “crm.lists.read” so it should not be a permission issue.

@NNagarajan - its not clear from your question whether you have used this API with the parameter that includes a set of requested segment/list IDs. As in the request looking like:

The API seems to require the list IDs to get a return response - presumably most useful if you want to retrive the filter definitions.

Hoping this is helpful.

Steve

Hi @NNagarajan

Could you please confirm which Lists API you are using—are you calling the endpoint to retrieve a single list by ID, or are you attempting to fetch multiple lists in one request?

If possible, sharing:
1. The exact endpoint you’re calling.
2. The request payload or parameters.

A screenshot or sample of the API request/response
would help us better understand how the API is being used and identify the issue more accurately.

Additionally, please confirm the type of list you’re trying to retrieve:
Static list, or Active (dynamic) list
This distinction is important, as certain List APIs only support static lists.

I hope this will help you out. Please mark it as **Solution Accepted and upvote** to help another Community member.

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for all of your responses. I am not looking for any specific list, so I didn’t provide a list ID - I’m looking for all lists that exist in my Hubspot instance.

I realized that I may have to do this via the Search Lists [endpoint](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api-reference/crm-lists-v3/lists/post-crm-v3-lists-search) which returns all listIDs and then pass those IDs to the Fetch Multiple Lists endpoint.
