I have added a mailto link to a button on one of our emails. In the interface I can sellect the email option from the dropdown, add the email address and a few other options as well. What I would like is to be able to add the subject line to that email that is generated when clicking the link, similar to what I can do with simple HTML, “subject=”. This funtionality can be expanded to the body content of the email as well.

Right now you can only do this via an ‘insert link’ directly to the text. This article outlines how to do it: Create a click-to-call or mailto link
Currently if you drop in a CTA button in an email and try to use the ‘email to’ option, you can’t add any subject line info.
Would be nice to have that added!

+1 on this feature. I can’t even manually add the query like so: person@email.com?subject=Email Subject. Hubspot CMS UI will display an error saying I’m wrting an invalid format. I can’t even write a manual link since External type requires the protocol (eg, https). The only option is hardcoding something in the module but that’s not desireable as I want my users to be able to easily edit content. The only work around I can think of would be to add a text field in place of the Link field but that has it’s own complications.
This is a fantastic idea and would really support our email marketing efforts, where we have different CTA buttons and different email replies. Being able to add and edit a subject line could differentiate the emails, and make the reply more personalised.
I make this work by using the url option on the button rather than the email and coding it manually.
