Hi all, we send alot of automated emails via workflow to specific contacts associated to deals.
Our workflows are based on the deal object although when an email is sent to a contact it does not log the activity to the deal. Is there a way this can be done?
The reason we would like to do this is so anyone viewing the deal can see the email has been sent and so when the contact replies the reply will also show on the deal.
Thank you for your help!
Hi @Melinda88,
Correct, this is unfortunately not possible at this stage and it is expected behaviour. Other users have requested this before: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Show-marketing-emails-in-associated-deals/idi-p/84247…
These requests submitted to the HubSpot Ideas section of the community are reviewed by the HubSpot product team, based on their popularity and the assumed demand. I’d recommend commenting and upvoting.
You can also help other HubSpot users find this request more easily (and drive traction) by accepting my reply as a solution. I’d appreciate it, too.
As far as workarounds go, if you want to at least see an info about the sent email on the deal, you could automatically log a note to the deal record and include a link to the marketing email. That way, at least the context is not lost.
Best regards
Thankyou, Karsten. A good suggestion with adding a link to the email in the deal note. Do you know of any workarounds to be able to associate the email to the deal if the contact replies to the email sent from the workflow?
@Melinda88 doing so manually would be the simplest option: Associate activities with records
If you want an automatic process, you would have to first set up this: Track replies to marketing emails sent to a connected inbox
You could then set up your activity association defaults to log emails on the contact record to deals also: Set up automatic associations for records and activities
