Emails sent to this address have been bounced

So the issue is that I cannot send an email using the contact record. Every time I try to send an email, HubSpot automatically prevents me from sending an email, stating that emails have bounced. However, when I send an email using the same email address on my email provider’s site it the email gets sent just fine. I know that the emails are the same because the email that I sent using my email provider’s site shows up in HubSpot’s contact record.

My question is: how do I remove this person from the permanent bounce list while I am on the free tier?

Hey @DAnderson60,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome back!

That message appears when HubSpot has the address flagged from a previous bounce, even if the address works fine from your email provider. What can be done about it depends on the type of bounce and your subscription. Here are a few community threads that cover both email types:

One-to-one email bounces

Marketing email bounces / free-tier unbouncing

That said, we can’t quite control much regarding 1:1 email bounces, but if you’re looking at a Marketing Email bounce please feel free to DM me their address and I’ll gladly assist!

Hello @DAnderson60 ,

The free version has a problem here. HubSpots current instructions say that unbouncing a contact needs a connected email sending domain, which you don’t get with HubSpot’s tools. Send emails to contacts who previously bounced

If the email is correct and the contact is listed as a global bounce you should reach out to HubSpot Support for help. For a hard bounce the Unbounce option is only available if the account meets the rules.

Since the same email works with your email provider I would also look at the exact reason for the bounce in HubSpot first because a security or policy rule can sometimes mark a real address as bounced. Email bounce types .
