Im working on an email workflow, when I “publish” an email, does it automatically go out? Im not ready to sent it to contacts yet but I can’t find the email as an option if I don’t publish it.

Hi @TSchmid0,

If it’s an automated email, publishing simply means making it available for usage in a workflow: [Send automated emails in workflows](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/create-automated-emails-to-use-in-workflows)

Publishing an automated email does not send it.

You can always convert email types (regular/automatic) via the options in the top right of the email editor.

Best regards!

Thanks for clarifying, Karsten! Out of curiosity, when I published an email in a workflow recently, it automatically got added to our Hubspot marketing calendar. Why? And, how can I avoid that from happening?
