# Email Validation

Hello,

Hubspot is throwing an error while creating a contact using API - [https://api.hubapi.com/crm/v3/objects/contacts/batch/create](https://api.hubapi.com/crm/v3/objects/contacts/batch/create)

Hubspot is right, this email address is not correct - "[dcs3md@gmail.comDNC.DNC"](mailto:dcs3md@gmail.comDNC.DNC%22)

But, it clears the RegEx validation I added. And because of this bad email, my entire batch of 100 insert got failed.  
I want to know - how Hubspot is identifying a bad email address? I will try to use the same for my email validation.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Hi @SSharma278

My **guess** is that HubSpot checks the “Domain Registry” to see if it’s a valid domain.

I’ve seen variations of a legitimate domain, that are very similar, fail vaildation because of a typo in the domain.

Curious to see if anyone else knows what’s happening?
