We have recently joined hubspot CRM (Business Development Team at Novus).
Having installed the Hubspot plug in via Outlook, hubspot crm is tracking all my emails and sent intems, unfortunately i would just like to track a ‘select’ few and do not want my entire inbox to show up on the crm activity feed
These select company emails will be designed to sync with company/contact pages on CRM for the whole of the team to see.
If you could help me solve the problem so I can feed back to the team that would be great.
Many thanks
Will
Hi @Williamrussell1,
In the add-in settings, you can specify that the default should be not to log/track. You can then selectively choose which emails should be logged/tracked.
Best regards!
Hi there,
I’m just picking this up again, i’ve unticked both the log email and track email (preferences) so all my emails are not tracked.
Unfortunately i have not quite worked out how to self select/choose which email contacts i would like sync with the contacts pages on CRM.
Would you mind telling how to specifically select emails within Outlook to ensure they sync with hubspot please?
E.g. is there a plugin i need to install, do i drag the email, is there a settings in CRM i need to play with?
Hi Karsten,
One thing I forgot to mention, can we track historic emails on CRM?
Having updated my email settings on Outlook and refreshed the crm, I note i am not currently seeing historic emails with my prospective leads (e.g emails from sustainability manager from a ftse100 company back in March 2022).
Could you point me in the right direction?
Many thanks
Will
Hi @Williamrussell1,
This is not a feature of the Outlook add-in, you would have to use a third-party solution for that, for example Threads: HubSpot Marketplace
Best regards!
Hi Karsten,
Thanks for this, so tracking historic emails from Jan-March 22 will show up on the dashboard?

Hi @Williamrussell1,
I haven’t worked with Threads yet but I assume that’s how the sync would behave, yes. You should clarify with the developer (contact details in the right sidebar of the page linked above).
If you consider your original question answered, please don’t forget to mark my earlier reply as a solution. I’d appreciate it and it helps other community members.
Best regards!
