Email-Template: {{ view_as_page_url }} not working by default anymore

Hi all,
we use a self-coded template for creating marketing emails. This email template is highly optimized for common email-clients and works pretty good.
This week we stumbled across an issue. In the header we use an <a>-tag for viewing the page as web-page using this line of code (simplified):

Not rendering correctly?
View this email as a web page <a href="{{ view_as_page_url }}">here</a>.

By default this was working as expected. Now we have to toggle the switch to enable the web version of this email manually, otherwise there is no working link in the test email, although a link is displayed and working in the preview of the mail editor.

Was there any update causing this? Does this causing any other problems we are not aware of? As for now, I have checked the sitemap. There those emails do not appear, which is good. Already thanks for your reply!
Fabian

Hi @FabianRichter,

How did you test the mail? I did send a test mail to myself and it looks like the link is empty with me. But i’m not sure if this is because it’s a test mail i’m sending.

I recommend setting up a default mail and check if the problem still occurs. If this is so, it’s best to contact HubSpot Support. If they can’t fix the problem they ask for the HubSpot product team to look into it.

Thanks @Indra for your quick response.
You’re right, it could be caused by the ‘test-mail-status’. I’ll try your suggestion and come back, when I’ve got news.

@IndraI’ve tested the email now and same result. I’m just wondering because we never enabled the “view as webpage” toggle because the link {{ view_as_page_url }} worked anyways.
Seems like we need to enable it in the future. I’ll mark your answer as solution. Thanks!

Hi @FabianRichter,

Thanks for your comment and that your problem is solved!
