# Email Sent Day & time

Hi HubSpot,

Currently, HubSpot tracks all email sent date which already includes time stamp & timezone. I want to create a custom field to show the day & time sent (eg: Sent Day, Sent Time) as a email performance metric so all emails will have this updated fields. I want to use this for reporting to show what is the best day & time to send emails by campaign. Currently,when i create custom field, it seems like it is associated to a contact but i am not sure how to add/edit the Marketing Email performance page to show these additional fields. Appreciate any feedback here.

Hi @DGanasan,

Have you looked into the custom report builder? (Menu \> Reporting \> Reports \> Create report \> Custom report builder)

It has a data sources for marketing emails which include what you’re looking for. Once you e created reports, you can also export the report data for further analysis in Excel.

It’s not possible to create properties for assets, mainly however because this information is already accessible in reports.

Hi Karsten,

Yes i have tried the custom report builder but this is limited to just the date. I want to be able to see the day and time. If i were to create 2 custom property (day and time) and use it in the report, will i be able to achieve this?

Hi @DGanasan,

The report builder is not limited to the date, if you pull in data points like “timestamp”, you can change the date part to “Hour of day”:
