The Google Sheets integration isn’t designed to do this. You might be able to do this via the api.
What I’m wondering is how is your revenue in Google Analytics in the first place? If you can push the data to Hubspot at that time that you are tracking revenue, you might be able to get around the Google Sheets altogether. Could you explain more about how you are collecting/sending the data to Google Analytics?
Our transaction data usually shows up in GA4 when a purchase is made on our e-commerce website.
However, since we utilize SAP Hybris for website hosting, our revenue data resides outside of HubSpot.
The challenge arises because in GA4, revenue is only categorized by “hs_email” or “hs_automation” under session source/medium in the Acquisitions dropdown. Is there a settings adjustment to see the actual email names, etc.?
Essentially, we gather revenue data from Hybris, link it with internal HubSpot IDs for emails, and then merge them in Sheets to attribute revenue to specific emails.
The source of hs_email vs. hs_automation has to do with whether the email was sent out as a single send or via a workflow automation. There is a utm_campaign that captures the campaign name. In addition, I would suggest you check the source tracking in Marketing --> Email --> Tracking --> Source Tracking and ensure that you choose the option to Add source tracking only if no existing tags in URL so that you can customize the tags to be more specific if you want to overwrite the Hubspot defaults or add your own values in.
Hey, so I tweaked those settings earlier, but they didn’t really do much.
Does this mean I have to create a new campaign every time I send an email through HubSpot to view in GA4?
If each email is part of a separate campaign yes. I would recommend manually creating your own UTM parameters with the email to replace the hs_email and hs_automation values with your own. By changing that setting in Hubspot you will no longer see those values then unless those UTM values are omitted.
