Email recipients not receiving hubspot emails

I have found that uq.edu.au email recipients are not receiving hubspot emails. I have contacted UQ’s IT support, asking them to allow emails from hubspotfree.net and a list of hubspot IP addresses as instructed by hubspot support. They investigated and have answered that the hubspot emails never reached the UQ gateway and that there must be an issue from the sender to check. They also said that there are no issues with the hubspotfree.net domain. Hubspot support has now referred me to this community board to seek further assistance. Is anyone able to advise?

Hi @EAtkinson,

Do these marketing emails show up as delivered on the contact records of these recipients?

  • If not, please review the troubleshooting steps I shared here.
  • If yes, then the issue shouldn’t be on the HubSpot side of things.

In the latter case, HubSpot has a troubleshooting article specifically for this: Contacts not receiving your marketing emails

I’d recommend working through the options linked in the article above. If you have received the feedback from UQ that HubSpot emails never reached them, then you would have to explore that further, unfortunately. If the email was successfully sent from HubSpot (see contact record), then the issue is almost certainly on the receiving end. Some filter or guideline must have blocked or not let through the email.

If that is the case, options are unfortunately limited when using the free tools. The first step for better email deliverability would be upgrading to Starter connecting your email sending domain.

Connect your email sending domain

Use a DMARC policy with HubSpot

This will give HubSpot permission to send emails on your behalf by connecting an email sending domain for DKIM (Domain Keys Identified Mail) email authentication and make your email look more trustworthy to receiving email service providers.

Lastly, HubSpot marketing emails contain tracking links which are sometimes considered potentially harmful by email service providers. That can cause marketing emails to land in spam filters. You can switch this tracking off under Settings > Marketing > Email > Tracking. However, you’ll lose email analytics then, of course.

Best regards!

The sending email domain entry solution needs to be shared with all support. I went round and round about this until I findally found the same answer.

Were you ever given a solution for this? My team is having the same problem with clients not receiving emails from us that are sent with the CRM.
