Any news on this issue would be super helpful.
Being able to know why people unsubscribe is crucial to adjusting our marketing efforts and providing a better experience to the other subscribers.
Really disappointing that you abandoned the development of this idea that has being requested for such a long time.
We would also like this functionality!! Any updates on progress?
Much needed! Understanding WHY someone is unsubscribing would be incredibly valuable to email marketing strategy
Still no plans to add this feature? I understand it may not get many responses, but any response would be extremely helpful!
Hi there, is there any update on this? This feature would be so helpful.
Commenting in 2023! There is still a major need for this functionality. It’s absurd that it’s been passed over for so long.
Any updates here? Can’t believe it’s not possible to do something so simple…
Many other platforms have this functionality available. It is shocking to know that the leading automation platform has not yet developed this functionality. Please add this to the development plan for 2024.
We would also really appreciate this functionality! Can you give us an update whether this will be possible within HubSpot?
We would like the ability to add a question after someone unsubscribes so we can understand why they unsubscribe. From my understanding, there is not a way to do this without code.
As @averyguest suggests, they would like this added after the unsubscribe. Because of the changes with Google and Yahoo this year and the requirement for one-click unsubscribes, perhaps this enhancement request would be best placed along with the unsubscribe confirmation. In order to optimize submissions, a single-select or multi-select checkbox field would be ideal. It would be helpfull as well to have controll over the confirmation message upon submission of the unsubscribe reason.
Thank you all for taking the time to submit, upvote, and comment on this Idea. This Idea is being revisited by our team. The product development process is always filled with unexpected bumps and hurdles, so I can’t give an exact timeline, but we’ll deliver this feature as soon as possible. All updates will be relayed on this thread. Stay tuned!
Would be good to have this!

Hey Everyone! Looks like @BérangèreL and team have been working on brining this idea to light and now its in BETA! Opt yourself in. Here’s more!
What is it?
You can now trigger an unsubscribe survey on the preference page to collect feedback about why a contact is unsubscribing from all emails and view this feedback for more insights about your marketing email strategy. Turn every unsubscribe into a learning opportunity without adding friction to the unsubscribe process.
Why does it matter?
Automatically collect feedback when a contact unsubscribes from all email, giving Marketers actionable insights to reduce churn and improve content relevance.
How does it work?
Within the Subscriptions settings tab, Marketers can toggle on the unsubscribe survey.
Once this setting is toggled on, anytime a contact unsubscribes from all email communications, they will see a questionnaire on the confirmation page inquiring as to the reason for the unsubscribe. The survey includes 5 preset options:
- I’m no longer interested in your company
- I didn’t sign up for your mailing list
- I receive too many emails
- Your emails are not relevant to me
- Other (50-character count open text field)
How to Access Data
There will be several ways to view the unsubscribe survey results, including --
- Contact Record Page (in the Activity Timeline)
- Custom Report Builder (contacts > marketing email activities > gave reason for unsubscribe)
- Note: This option will be available for Professional and Enterprise tier customers only.
Additionally, we’re aiming to have unsubscribe survey results accessible in the email post-send performance page in the near future.
Callouts
- Available across all Marketing Hub tiers (Free, Starter, Professional, Enterprise)
- Feature is enabled by default for all Free/Starter MH customers and new MH customers (customers who created an account after launch date).
- Feature is not enabled by default for legacy Pro/ Ent MH customers
- Multi-language support. Page will be available in the language the user viewed their Manage Preference pages in.
- The setting does not block or prohibit users from unsubscribing, it is optional and not required. Any responses received will be stored and made available to you.
Omissions
- No API support
- No customization of the survey questions
Who gets it?
All hubs and tiers, Marketing Starter, Marketing Pro, Marketing Enterprise, Marketing+ Pro, Marketing+ Enterprise
This is on the team’s radar and we are beginning to research how this will work/where it will fit in the platform. Stay tuned for updates/details on beta access!
Hey guys, do you know if there any updates about the idea implementation? It has been a while since the hubspot team classified it as “Planning”. I’m very interested in this feature.
We could really use this too. Great idea.
We need this one too. I am surprised that this capability is not available in Hubspot.
