Hi, we have a save the date email that has not sent to all we selected. Is this to do with our GDPR settings?

Hi @JSamuel85,

The easiest way for troubleshooting would be checking the _Recipients_ tab and _Not sent_ section of the sent email.

 ![karstenkoehler_0-1708439974415.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/2X/8/8fc919eedc3fe6d880123c666cba9c44d2ee4d64.png)

If the contacts are listed there, you’ll see explanations as to why contacts were not sent the email. These can include the following:

Are you [using the marketing contacts](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/marketing-contacts) functionality? If yes, are all recipients marked as marketing contacts? (HubSpot will not send emails to non-marketing contacts.)

Do all contacts have an email address?

Do you have the [GDPR settings enabled](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/account/how-do-i-turn-on-gdpr-functionality-in-my-hubspot-account)? If yes, you might have restricted email sends to contacts who have a legal basis for communication only. In that case, you would have to [update your contact subscriptions](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/manage-your-subscription-preferences-and-types).

Have some of the contacts [previously bounced](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/email/what-is-the-difference-between-a-hard-bounce-and-a-soft-bounce)? You can check by filtering your recipient list by “_Email hard bounce reason_ is known”. This could also be global bounces (contacts that did not bounce in your portal but three other HubSpot portals).

Did you already hit your [monthly email send limit](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/account/which-email-messages-count-towards-my-hubspot-account-s-email-send-limit)? (5X marketing contact tier)

Have some of the contacts previously unsubscribed? You can check by filtering your recipient list by “_Unsubscribed from all email_ is equal to True”

If the contacts are not shown under _Not sent_, you would have to follow these steps: [Understand why contacts didn't receive marketing emails](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/marketing-email/contacts-not-receiving-your-marketing-emails)

Best regards!

Thank you, I have checked and the 136 it didn’t get sent to have no subscription consent. How do we solve this please?

@JSamuel85 the contacts would need to be opted into the subscription type that you chose in the settings tab in marketing email editor: [Manage your contacts' messaging subscriptions](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/manage-your-subscription-preferences-and-types)

Keep in mind that you should only set the opt-in if there is a legal basis.

Best regards!
