Email list not matching on secondary email addresses

I was creating a mailing list to a list of specific email addresses. The contacts in question have these addresses as secondary email addresses, not the primary. How can I get the mailing list filter to match on these additional email addresses?

Hi @DanaIrvine,

I don’t think there’s a filter for that in the user interface. For a workaround, I’d recommend the following:

  • Export your contacts from the contact index page and include additional email addresses
  • Perform filtering in the export file
  • Re-import list based on record ID and create a list from the import to easily find/access these contacts

So, in other words, even though contacts can be merged and have additional email addresses, HubSpot fails to match on these alternate email addresses when filtering email ists on email address. I hardly see your suggestion as a solition, no clue who accepted it as a solition becaue it isn’t, it’s a clunky workaround at best which the end user is not going to be able to use.
