Email Image Changing Without Edits Mystery...

Okay, I have a delightful Hubspot mystery for you today, folks!

We send daily emails to our customer base - each of these emails has the same image at the top of our email. The image says “Daily Discoveries”. We have been using this image since we began sending our emails in Hubspot, beginning June 28th.

I noticed this morning while doing a spot-check on our scheduled emails, that the “Daily Discovery” title image had been changed to a different title image (this title image is “Clos Rougeard”, and was created for a separate campaign).

The titles of each image are different in our files in the system, and each had the “Daily Discovery” title when I created them in the past week.

Not only did all of our scheduled emails make this change - when I went to my email inbox, all of our “Daily Discoveries” emails, starting from June 28th, now have the “Clos Rougeard” title image, instead of the “Daily Discoveries” title image, when I know they all had the “Daily Discoveries” title image when they were sent.

While I have gone ahead and re-loaded the original “Daily Discoveries” title image back into all of our scheduled emails, I would love to know how/why/etc. this happened, and how it is also affecting already delivered emails, so that we can avoid this mysterious malfunction in the future.

Thanks in advance for any insight or help you may be able to provide!

Hey @itsmegkehoe, thanks for reaching out! This is a mystery indeed, but hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Difficulties with images used in marketing assets changing or disappearing usually stems back to the specific image file being used. If there were any changes to that image file made by any user, those changes will be applied wherever the image is referenced.

If you click on the image within your HubSpot files library, you’ll see a bunch of additional info about the file (sample below):

You should be able to check out the file history to see if there were any updates made to the file recently that could explain the swap.

If that still isn’t answering much, your next best bet is to open a ticket with HubSpot support. If you can come to them with the specific emails affected, the specific images in use, and any of the file history that you’re seeing, they should be able to take a look and see if anything is wonky on their end.

Hope this gets resolved quickly for you!!

Thank you, Jacob! I did a rundown on the file histories, and have contacted Hubspot Support, as the histories didn’t show any discrepancies. Thanks again!
